torsor
the torsor concept has originated in the field of metrology. For every point M in Euclidian space, its small displacements can be described by two vectors: Dm and 0m. The Dm vector represents three translations along perpendicular directions, two by two. The 0m vector corresponds to three small rotations around perpendicular directions, two by two. These two vectors define a so-called small displacement screw model or torsor Tm,0. In general, the torsor contains three translation parameters and three rotation parameters.
